About Me

Hi, I’m Alicia (ah-lee-see-ah).

I’m deeply inspired by Black excellence, community, philanthropy, and creating spaces that feel as good as they look. I believe in beauty with purpose; whether that’s through design, sustainability, or simply bringing more life into a space (plants included).

​

I am the founder of Hazel Slate, a textiles fabrication workroom specializing in modern window treatments and custom interiors. While I’ve had the pleasure of working with residential clients, my heart and focus are in collaborating with designers to bring elevated commercial spaces to life.

​

My work has been featured throughout Indianapolis, including the Indianapolis Home Show Centerpiece Home, St. Margaret’s Decorators’ Showhouse, High Alpha, The Fishers Test Kitchen, Salesforce, and Ascension St. Vincent Fishers Hospital.

​

In 2020, I was honored as a 20 Under 40 recipient and featured in Window Fashion VISION magazine, later returning as a judge for their annual design competition.

At the core of it all, I’m a creator who loves transforming ideas into something tangible, thoughtful, and beautifully made.
